Hiking in the Highlands
My in-laws live in the Highlands so this August we took a trip up to see them. While we were there we went hiking in Glen Affric – supposedly one of the most beautiful glens in the highlands.
We were not disappointed – we completed a 5 mile hike around Dog Falls and Lake Coire which was absolutely stunning. We parked in the Dog falls car park, followed the red route, and then took the yellow when it split, before re-joining the red back to the car park – it was very well signposted.
This hike had so much to offer; woodland, mushrooms, views, river, loch. I’d highly recommend it if you’re ever up in the Highlands. There were many other routes in the area also, all really easy to follow from websites or from the trail guides which can be picked up in the car parks and local coffee shops.
