I’m hoping this will serve as a bonus post (providing I can get some more shots later in the month) to make up for the limited photos in March Flicks.
Last week there was one day where the sun shone without a cloud in the sky. I went for a walk up on Barbury Castle – an ancient hill fort on the Ridgeway. The views were incredible; it was so uplifting to actually see some blue sky. The fort itself was impressive, the ditches were formidably deep and the views from the top made it clear why the Ancient Britons had chosen this site for their fort.
Following on from this great weather, we ambitiously took a 12k hike on Saturday. Sadly the weather was not as good, but we saw some beautiful woodland flowers along the way.

And finally, not so wild, but just as beautiful, some Anemone from my parents’ garden.

I just love coming across woodland flowers on walks. They always make me stop for photos. I caught sight of a beautiful plant the other day. Of course, I have no idea what it’s called. A 12 mile hike? Wow, good for you guys! I walked through a forest once in the rain and it was a surprisingly great experience. Just goes to show, we never know where our little joys might come from. You take beautiful photos. 🙂

Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂 Woodland flowers are wonderful and walking in the rain is surprisingly invigorating – so long as it’s not absolutely bucketing it down.
